Week 4 - All the...♬♫♪♩.... small things... ♬♫♪♩ 21 August 2023

Now, coming into week four, would be a good time to be handy.  Unfortunately, Nicci married someone that was too busy playing sports and chasing girls to be interested in learning from his tremendously handy father.  Pa Weitz was the MacGyver of the family.  There were many times where me and my friends broke something and I quickly said, "don't worry, my dad can fix it."  I am still trying to dig deep and see if the genetic traits are buried inside somewhere...I will let you know what I find, but playing around with a chainsaw (to make way for the fence)  just proves that I am still good at breaking shit.

Floors and walls are coming together, and the security fencing is getting in place.  Now if we could just get these clowns working on the roof to get moving, we will be right on track (barring the delay on the glass doors and windows).

Week 2 - Wrecking Balls and Grenades! 7 August 2023

I have personally never used a wrecking ball, or a grenade for that matter, but I am pretty sure my title for Week 2 is quite accurate.  So much rubble from removing a few walls, blowing out some holes in the exterior for more windows and doors, lifting up the tiles and floors to rebuild them, and removing some other extraneous pieces from the 1970's.  My anxiety level hit its max while walking through a Week 2 version of our new abode.  "Keep remember the vision and the drawings"...I have to keep telling myself.  Let's hope Week 3 will start bringing it all together.

Week 8 - Follow the Yellow Brick Road - 18 September 2023

Not quite the Emerald City, but the Emerald Bathroom is starting to get us excited.  I tried to convince Nicci that the floor should be golden colored bricks, but I don't think that fits with her vision.  The kitchen is taking shape with the cabinetry being built, and with the open plan after blowing out that wall, it is going to be a nice central feature in the house.   The outside also got a bit of a facelift with the pool resurfacing, coping and pavers almost being complete.  And our 70s porn star palm trees have now come into the 21st Century with a more manicured look.  The top deck is being painted and is almost complete.

Week 1 - Let the renovation games begin! 3 August 2023

 After looking at the original pictures of this house, I don't really understand how we decided to make this purchase.  But with a visionary project manager (Nicci) spending a couple weeks putting together the drawings, we both were getting excited as the final product started to come to life.  So now it is time to start breaking shit...everything must go!  Carpets, floors, toilets, bathtubs, showers, entire kitchen, walls, and much more.  Nothing like seeing a huge chunk of money leaving you bank account and then you start smashing what you just purchased.  So, have a look at the start of the project....
